Mary and Rob decided on an intimate wedding at Strongwater. Strongwater is one of my favorite wedding venues in Columbus, Ohio. It is so versatile, so you can build your vision around the industrial and modern vibes. They really wanted to create an experience for their family and friends and the best dinner. They had a total of 44 people in total. They wanted to be able to talk and hang out with every single guest and not be in a sea of hundreds of people. That’s the magic of intimate weddings. Less stress. You can also spend the money on your guests’ experience as well as your dream vendors instead of cheapening everything to have 200+ people there. Whether you have a 25 person wedding or elopement or a 300 person wedding, make it about you and your boo.
Mary and Rob did a first look out in the courtyard where the outdoor ceremony normally takes place at Strongwater. Once you scroll down you will see how excited rob truly was to see his *almost* wife. We took some giggly and kitty photos outside and around the venue. It was about 90 minutes before sunset so the sun was a perfect height for the city. We took some fun photos under the bridge nearby and walking across the street. We ended pre-ceremony photos in the restaurant part of the venue that is closed during weddings. I sat them in this gorgeous orange couch that they snuggled close on.
The ceremony was a gorgeous sunset setting with these peaking through the old glass panes of Strongwater. Their vows were filled with memories, smiles, and tears. Talks of skydiving and promises of adventure-filled both their vows. After the ceremony, we took some family and friend portraits. Afterward, Rob and Mary wanted some time alone and did some newlywed sunset portraits in the courtyard and upstairs in the studio.
If you haven’t looked yet, Mary changes dresses! One from BHLDN and the other from David’s Bridal for $300! WHAT?! She bought two on clearance and couldn’t choose which to wear. Her sister and I convinced her to wear both! One during the ceremony and one for the reception. That way, she could have photos in both since they were during a first look and post-ceremony, newlywed photos. Both dresses were seriously made for her.
Dinner time! Rob and Mary had designed a gorgeous 3 table set up, filled with candlelight, greenery, and gorgeous menus. Mary had printed, wax stamped, and wrote out each place setting herself! I still have my place setting because it was way too gorgeous to throw away or leave behind. Mary also had old black and white films playing on the white wall during dinner and it just added to the elegant dinner party theme. After a yummy three-course dinner by Bosc & Brie, it was time for toasts, cake by Just You & Me, an open bar from Strongwater, and dancing!
They ended the night sipping on wine and dancing and chatting with everyone. It was seriously a dream night and everything Mary and Rob wanted. If you are having a wedding at Strongwater, inquire here, I’d love to be there!
