If you are having a wedding in the woods, this gallery is for you. Caitlin and Alex’s sunset wedding at Canyon Run Ranch was golden and magical. So many tears during the ceremony, I couldn’t focus on who to photograph. Caitlin was seriously one of the happiest and giddiest people to get married. Even during their engagement session, she couldn’t stop giggling and smiling. Alex and Caitlin’s engagement session can be seen here, it was actually done here, at Canyon Run Ranch a year prior.
The Details
Canyon Run Ranch has this gorgeous sunroom connecting the two sides of the house. Of course, I had to photograph Caitlin’s personal wedding day details in there. DUH. Her boho vibes matched perfectly with the natural feel of the room. ALSO, THERE WAS A CAT, so I had to add him in there. He stayed there the whole time. Gorgeous florals by The Flowerman! Pulled the whole thang together. Alex got ready in the groomsmen are of the venue. I am in love with how the old animal stalls were turned into individual private changing rooms.
The First Look
I knew this first look was going to make my chest tight. UHHH, IT DID. Caitlin came out beaming and just so excited to show Alex her dress. When Alex saw her, he lit up. They both just smiled at each other and kept holding on to each other. RIGHT HERE, is why you do a first look…..right after the first look we were getting ready for portraits. Alex turns to me and then turns to Caitlin and goes “Do I have to leave you?’ MY HEART EXPLODED. I said “of course not! that’s why you did a first look!”
Wedding in the Woods – Ceremony
I think my favorite part of this venue, is the ceremony space in the woods. The drive back to the entrance of the forest is relaxing and gorgeous. The walk back to the ceremony space has two trails. Either one is gorgeous. I am dying to see someone light that whole walk up and have an evening ceremony. #weddinggoals Caitlin had bridesmaids as well as one of her bets dude friends too and it was perfect. He held the rings during the ceremony, and I love the photo of him handing them off to her, Caitlin’s expression is my absolute favorite. Canyon Run Ranch has just an amazing amount of looks. You have the barn, the woods, the field, the cottage, a waterfall, and a meadow. Portraits
With the ceremony at sunset, portraits happened right as the sun was setting. We had about 5 ish minutes to grab some shots before heading to the reception. It was a tad chilly but these two kick-ass babes braved it and we got some fun as heck shots.
Reception
I think 2 hours of reception coverage is perfect. I was able to capture the introductions, first dances, some dancing, nighttime portraits, and some photo booth fun by the Olive photo booth camper! The parent dances were probably the best part of the reception. Caitlin and her dad’s dance was so sweet and happy. I mean, look at her dad’s face!!! I ended my time with them with nighttime portraits (swoon) and photos in the photo camper. My last shot was a kiss, and it was the perfect end to their gallery.
