I am all about fall time weddings, but a fall September wedding at Jorgensen Farms? GOLDEN. INCREDIBLE. GORGEOUS.
Jorgensen Farms Decorations
Katie and Mitchell’s wedding at Jorgensen Farms Historic Barn was beautifully detailed inside and out. They decided on a gorgeous ceremony in the garden where the whole garden had a fence of hydrangeas wrapping all the way around. Inside the Historic Barn, they had the reception space simply decorated with some awesome centerpiece and favor details, nodding to Mitchell’s family. Mitchell’s family is from South Africa and there were yummy African liquors as favors and awesome travel pieces sprinkled all through the place.
The Ceremony in the Garden
Most of Mitchell’s family came all the way from South Africa so getting to witness the reunions and fun they all had the entire day, was something special. The day was cloud-filled until the ceremony when the sun finally came out! Mitchell and Katie both wrote and read personal vows. They took turns thanking each other for patience and love during their college years. Mitchell is still in medical school, and kicking butt! My favorite part was the end. They both were just so dang excited for their first kiss.
Family Formals in the Garden
Now, I may be unique but I love family formals. Being a mom I know how special these will be for generations down the road. I take so much pride in posing and directing these photos. I want them intimate and warm. Katie’s brother couldn’t help but cry when it was his turn. He just looked at Katie with awe and broke down. Katie with her grandmother was heartwarming. Mitchell and his grandmother were equally the sweetest. She was just so happy to be there.
Newlywed Portraits at Jorgensen Farms
Super bummed that it would be raining during sunset photos, we made sure to get some kickass midday photos! THESE TWO ARE ROMANCE. Katie giggling and smiling at her new husband was THE BEST. Every time Katie would giggle, it would make Mitchell smirk and well….that’s why their photos are gorgeous! TOTAL BABES!
Reception inside the Historic Barn at Jorgensen Farms
After cocktail hour, it was TIME TO PARTY! Katie and Mitchell’s first dance was awesome and so sweet. Toasts and speeches from their families were tear-jerkers to say the least, especially from Mitchell’s father. Mitchell’s brother, Keegan, made the wedding cake. IT WAS AMAZING! They also had little bundt cakes from a local bakery. 20 or so of their closest people stayed to the very end and partied. There was even talk of an after-party at a hotel rooftop?! SUCH A BLAST.
I can’t wait to be back to photograph a November wedding at Jorgensen Farms – Oak Grove! AHHHH – STOKED!
