Taylor + Scott | Rolling Meadows Ranch Wedding | Ohio Wedding Photographer

Taylor and Scott’s beautiful and DIY wedding at Rolling Meadows Ranch in Lebanon, Ohio. It was the perfect spring day wedding. Their small, intimate wedding was filled with friends and family from Colorado to Arkansas and a lot here in Ohio. Their ceremony and reception was decorated with greenery and gorgeous spring colors of blues and blush. Gold accents and simple, modern calligraphy was spread through the decoration and really tied everything together. Minimal and DIY is the perfect combo and these two hit the nail on the head.

Taylor was one of the most laid back people about to get married. During getting ready, she sat back and ate snacks while your family and bridesmaids got ready. Chatted on the phone to her family traveling in and just focused on being present and enjoying the day unfolding. Scott downstairs, hanging with his groomsmen, were just about the same. He was just so excited to see Taylor in her dress.

Taylor and Scott’s first look was freaking perfect. Scott turned around and let out an excited “heck yes” and stood back so he could get the full picture. I know everyone loves the photos of the grooms crying and tearing up, but the over the top excited ones are my favorite!

When I met with Taylor to help put her timeline together and talk about details and moments that she wanted to be photographed she said, “As long as the day reflects Scott and I, that’s all that matters.” We talked about how weddings become such a production and how it probably helped to only have five months to plan the wedding. UM WELLLLLL — their families/friends, Taylor, & Scott did amazing and the day was just filled with so much JOY and BEAUTY.

The staff here were amazing. I met Ronald, who was the venue coordinator for the day and the most helpful. We were super limited for time for their sunset portraits. Ron came up to me about 15 minutes before and let me know he had a golf cart and could drive us anywhere on the property! It saved us so much time and energy. We needed to go way back and the property to the open field. He was amazing and held Taylor’s bouquet in between shots. My favorite part was how Ron helped me with dress shots! He held the end of Taylor’s dress and whipped it up so I could get that perfect “dress floating in the wind” photo. Simply above and beyond!

FREAKING STOKED TO SHARE A GLIMPSE INTO THEIR DAY WITH Y’ALL!

Taylor and Scott’s wedding reception was full of dancing, wine, and a fun playlist by Amplified Digital Entertainment. We had a small dance floor but the wedding guests had no problem with me in the middle of it, dancing with them.

The wedding vendors that helped put on this amazing, smooth wedding were the best.

I believe in the magic of capturing moments as they are, not just as they should be. My style is a blend of traditional portraits and documentary. I thrive when given creative control and trust, allowing me to blend into your celebration, capturing the actual spontaneous and genuine moments.

BEHIND THE LENS

MEET CATE

Photographer, artist, mother, occasional painter, inspired by music videos, film, and nostalgia.

At a young age, I was engrossed with storytelling. Writing short stories on a thrifted type writer. Filming music videos to my favorite songs. A school project wasn’t just papier-mâché, it was a production with costumes, music, and visual effects. Now, with photographs, documenting a wedding day of all its moments of little touches, side glances, stolen kisses, hidden tears, and belly laughs. I can’t but help but bottle up the day, transport a memory from a feeling to something you can hold onto.
