Rachael + Tony | Debreceni Estate Wedding | New Carlisle Wedding Photographer

Rachael and Tony’s blush, gold, and geometric wedding at the Debreceni Estate in New Carlisle, Ohio was a wedding for the books. These two are some of the sweetest people and their day with their family and friends, proved it x1000. This was my first time shooting at this wedding venue and the grounds were incredible. There was a waterfall that led to the pond. The ceremony site overlooked the pond and had a willow tree to get married under. If you book a bartender, they have their own building which is pretty awesome and gives them so much room to work. Catering also has its own building that has plenty of room so you don’t feel crowded getting in and out the buffet line. Their reception was in the big white tent with gorgeous textiles, decor, and a TON of room to dance and party! I met Mark and Sarah, the owners, and they were just the kindest. They made sure I knew my way around the site and opens their house to their couples getting married, to have a space to get ready.

Their wedding decor was sooo different from what I have shot this year and I was not mad! Blush, gold, geometric centerpieces, a gold wedding arch/altar, peonies the size of my head (just kidding but they were huge), and gorgeous florals from Schneiders Florist hanging from the gold arch that Tony made. The wedding cake – 1. Was DELICIOUS 2. GORGEOUS. It was a simple white cake with gold “dripping” all the way around with her florals at the stop surrounded by another gold arch. YESSS PLEASE! The bridesmaid’s dresses were so dang unique. I don’t even know how to explain the color other than coral and pink smashed together. Tony’s salmon and pink colored tux with a floral tie was the perfect combo. Rachael’s lace dress was MADE for her.

When I arrived, Rachael was just getting started on her makeup by the lovely and sweet, Ashley. Her two sweet baby girls were running around and kept coming up to their mama watching her get ready. Her bridesmaids were equally as awesome and welcomed me in. I gathered Rachael’s invitation, bouquet, perfume bottle, jewelry, dress, and shoes. I was almost time to shoot details! Her wedding gown was GOALZ. I AM OBSESSED with the bodice.

While Rachael finished her makeup I went down to where the guys were staying to grab portraits of Tony, his groomsmen, and family. I barely had to direct Tony, he instantly became a model and stayed his groom portraits. When I say I couldn’t get over his suit, I AM NOT KIDDING. It was a lovely mix of pink and salmon. He paired it with a floral tie, and just brought the whole dang this together. Tony gave his best man, a “kings hand” pin and the Game of Thrones freak in me, was so FREAKING HAPPY. Tony’s nephew had a matching suit as the groomsmen and equally obsessed with how adorable he was!

Tony and Rachael’s first look was so heartwarming. Tony couldn’t keep his hands off of his bride and just kept repeating how incredible she looked. Shortly after their two daughters, Annie and Willow ran and joined them. We snapped some photos on the waterfall before sneaking away to hide before the ceremony. ALMOST MARRIED — EKKKK!

The ceremony was one word — emotional. Tony met Rachael halfway down the aisle and they walked to the altar that Tony made himself. Annie was constantly running up and down the aisle during the ceremony and it was too cute. Completely fitting and she just wanted to see everyone.

Family formals are super sentimental to me. It is a time that everyone is dressed up and looking their best and I love getting to basically grab boujie family photos. It’s a bonus session! One of my favorite family shots is actually in this wedding. You’ll see it as you scroll down. Rachael, her mom, grandmother, and two babes are all adjusting and getting in place for the photo and they are all looking at each other and for some sentimental reason, I am in love with it. 4 generations, 1 photo.

After bashing on some Mrs. B’s catering — UMMM YUM – it was time to partayyyyyy. Tony had a first dance with his mom, which was emotional for many reasons. Rachael and Tony had their first dance with their daughters. They had a giant group chicken dance which ended in a dance party.

This wedding was so laid back and so full of love. Congratulations Rachael and Tony!!! 🎉

BEHIND THE LENS

MEET CATE

Photographer, artist, mother, occasional painter, inspired by music videos, film, and nostalgia.

At a young age, I was engrossed with storytelling. Writing short stories on a thrifted type writer. Filming music videos to my favorite songs. A school project wasn’t just papier-mâché, it was a production with costumes, music, and visual effects. Now, with photographs, documenting a wedding day of all its moments of little touches, side glances, stolen kisses, hidden tears, and belly laughs. I can’t but help but bottle up the day, transport a memory from a feeling to something you can hold onto.
